Ready mix concrete plants and mixers provide a ready combined and mixed supply of concrete to building sites in various degrees and suitable for many different types of application.
The ingredients combined for the manufacture of concrete include sand, gravel or rocks (known collectively as aggregate), potash, fly ash and cement – these dry ingredients may be combined prior to delivery although water must be added to bring the ingredients together and form concrete.

Modern concrete plants combine their ingredients using computers to control the amounts needed – this has substantially increased the speed and the accuracy of the process, the performance of the concrete directly corresponds to the mixture, the amount of water used etc. Many of these automatic systems are fitted with a moisture probe to determine that the mixture is of the desired wetness before it is used. The amount of water to be used will be measured alongside the amount of sand and aggregate which will be used in the mixture.
